2023 to 2024 Sustainability Annual Report

The 2023 to 2024 year marked the "Year of Sustainability" by the Vice Chancellor; this document highlights what we did, as well as highlighting progress in other areas, including on utilities, biodiversity, waste, and travel, and attaining a "highly compliant" external sustainability audit result.

2022 to 2023 Sustainability Annual Report

Highlights this year include much progress on our key themes, including habitats, waste, travel, and energy, culminating in us being top of the HESA tables for our decarbonisation of Scope 1 & 2 emissions compared to the baselines, and being named Green Business of the Year by Suffolk County Council

2021 to 2022 Sustainability Annual Report

Highlights from this year's work include the foundations of the Building Management System upgrade, securing renewable energy guarantee of origin certification for approx 90% of our energy, near completion of the Smart House at Digitec, and LED lighting upgrades across campus.

2020 to 2021 Sustainability Annual Report

Highlights from this year's work include setting an Estate's target for carbon neutrality in scopes 1 and 2 and net zero in scope 3, 77% decrease in carbon emissions since the 2015 baseline, installation of 48kWp solar panels, creation of a wildlife garden and a wildflower meadow, and more.

2019 to 2020 Sustainability Annual Report

Highlights from this year's work include placing energy efficiency at the heart of its building and refurbishment programme and partnering with Suffolk County Council, design and development of DigiTech, outperforming the sector's target of carbon reduction and more.
